Nick Veasey is a British artist based in Thurnham, England who specializes in X-ray photography and creates amazing photos using industrial machines on everyday objects. “We live in a world obsessed with image. What we look like, what our clothes look like, houses, cars… I like to counter this obsession with superficial appearance by using X-rays to strip back the layers and show what it is like under the surface (…) I like to challenge this automatic way that we react to just physical appearance by highlighting the, often surprising, inner beauty”. Here is a quick look at his portfolio. Enjoy!Read more: X-Ray Photography By Nick Veasey (56 pics)
Heather and Jon Weis wanted their son’s gravesite at Alamance Memorial Park to be a happy place.
They wanted people, who knew their 9-year-old son Nicholas before he died June 25, 2010 of brain cancer, to have a place they could visit that instantly brought a smile to their faces just as Nicholas always had. For those who didn’t know their son, the Weises hoped the life-sized monument of a smiling Nicholas giving his signature thumbs up would touch them in some way.
On Wednesday, the Weises added another feature to Nicholas’ gravesite that they hope will give people a chance to learn about their son’s life, view photos, watch video and listen to recordings of the jokes that he told on The Wake Up with the Wolf radio show on 93.1.
